The revised product catalogue (15th batch) and related implementation rules of China’s energy efficiency label were unveiled by National Development and Reform Commission and State Administration for Market Regulation on April 21 2020. The validity will be 5 years.
The implementation date for involved home appliances (ducted air conditioners, low ambient temperature air source heat pumps packages, unitary air conditioners, room air conditioners and air purifiers) will be in line with the implementation date of the category’s national standard on minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grades. For products manufactured or imported before the implementation date of the energy label, the label shall be in place in a year after the implementation date.
It is learned that the implementation of national energy efficiency standards for ducted air conditioners, low ambient temperature air source heat pumps packages and unitary air conditioners have been postponed. According to the announcement made by China’s Standardization Administration on April 1 2020, GB 19576-2019 Minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grades for unitary air conditioners and GB 37479-2019 Minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grades for ducted air conditioners, scheduled to kick in starting May 1 will be postponed to November 1 2020; GB 37480-2019 Minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grades for low ambient temperature air source heat pumps (water chiller) packages, scheduled to kick in starting May 1 2020, will be postponed to November 1 2020.
For room air conditioners and air purifiers, GB 21455-2019 Minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grades for room air conditioners is scheduled to kick in starting July 1 2020, while GB 36893-2018 Minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and energy efficiency grades for air purifiers has been put in place starting December 1 2019.
