The final draft of CHEAA-initiated standard Quality Assessment Methods for Rice Cooked by Rice Cookers approved was approved by the expert panel on April 13th 2018. The standard was recognized by the panel as “world-leading”.
Tapping into this field for the first time in the world, this standard offers a comprehensive approach that combines sensory evaluation with physicochemical analysis to assess the quality of rice cooked by rice cookers. According to the expert panel, it fills the standard void of rice cooker sector, driving the industry players to upgrade their products to meet consumers’ increasing quality needs.
According to Wang Lei, Vice President of China Household Electrical Appliances Association, the development of this quality assessment standard is not intended to call out enterprises that fall short of standard. Offering an approach that has objectivity and reproducibility, it is established to prompt technology innovation, and the development of the industry.
