The eco-label for room air conditioner was jointly released by China Household Electrical Appliances Association (CHEAA), FECO of Ministry of Environmental Protection, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and GIZ on March 13, 2015. This eco-label is designed for energy efficient products and products using refrigerants whose global warming potential (GWP) are lower than 150. Some key Chinese room air conditioner manufacturers, such as Gree, Midea, Haier, Chunlan and Chonghong, have applied for the use of this label for their environmentally sound products and their applications have been approved.
