The IEC has approved the draft of the IEC 60335-2-40 ED7 Household and similar electrical appliances–Safety–Part 2-40: Particular requirements for electrical heat pumps, air-conditioners and dehumidifiers in May 2022 according to the IEC website. It means the charge limit for R290 and other flammable refrigerants in air conditioners, electrical heat pumps and dehumidifiers will be increased.
