International Roundtable of Household Appliance Manufacturer Associations 2017 (IRHMA 2017) was convened in Kyoto, Japan on March 28, 2017. Representatives from Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM), the European Committee of Domestic Equipment Manufacturers (CECED), the Japan Electrical Manufacturers’ Association (JEMA), Korea Electronics Association (KEA), and China Household Electrical Appliances Association (CHEAA) were brought together to update the latest progress of the industry in individual regions and share their views.
At this meeting, Wan Chunhui, Director of the Department of Standards and Regulations of CHEAA, and Xu Chengmao, Vice President of BSH Home Appliances Holding (China) Co., Ltd., introduced the latest progress of Smart Home Appliance Work Group of IRHMA, what CHEAA has achieved in smart appliance interconnectivity and CHEAA-led standard establishment in this regard. Luo Yuanyuan, Vice Director of Information Department of CHEAA, introduced the development and trends of China’s home appliance industry.
The proposal of hosting a global technical symposium from Joe McGuire, President and CEO of AHAM, and the proposal of including Russian counterpart to be a new member of IRHMA from Paolo Falcioni, Director General of CECED, were discussed at the meeting. Next year’s IRHMA will be held by CECED at Brussels.
