Shipping of smart home devices in China came to 51.12 million units for Q3 2020, down by 2.5% year-on-year, according to a tracing report on smart home devices released by Internet Data Center.

The report says it is mainly affected by the falling shipping volume of smart speakers and household video and entertainment devices. For Q3, shipping of smart speakers came to 8.29 million units, down by 14.7% year-on-year while shipping of household video and entertainment devices 12.38 million units, down by 19.9% year-on-year. It’s worth noting that, household security monitoring, smart lighting and smart temperature control have been gaining popularity with shipping volume up by 28.6%, 110.5% and 337.5% year-on-year respectively.
