The combined output of refrigerators stood at 37.593 million units from January to June 2020, down by 6.9% year-on-year; room air conditioners 104.149 million units, down by 16.4% year-on-year; washing machines 32.602 million units, down by 7.2% year-on-year, according to the half-year performance analysis of home appliance industry released on the website of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on July 31, 2020.
For June alone, the output of refrigerators came to 8.874 million units, up by 21.7% year-on-year, room air conditioners 24.903 million units, up by 12% year-on-year, washing machines 6.555 million units, up by 5.3% year-on-year.
As to the overall performance of home appliance industry, revenue for H1 came to 626.51 billion Yuan, down by 15.3% year-on-year, while profit for H1 came to 44.15 billion Yuan, down by 17.8% year-on-year.
