The China General Administration of Quality supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) recently published Interim Administrative Provisions on Consumer Product Recall, which is set to kick in starting January 1 2020. This signals China’s home appliance recall enters the stage of implementation.
The regulation stipulates that, manufacturer shall be responsible for the consumer products it manufactured and recall defective products. Plus, it stipulates the reporting duty of manufacturers and other involved operators, specify the recall plan content, reinforce the information disclosure and encourage manufacturers or other operators to establish a recall system.
