China Household Electrical Appliance Technical Conference (CHEATC 2024) was grandly held from November 14-15, 2024 in Hefei, Anhui province. Themed “Intelligence, Low Carbon, Healthiness and New Materials”, the conference attracted nearly 800 attendees onsite as well as many viewers online.
On November 15, six sub-sessions that cover refrigerators/freezers, air conditioners, washing machines, kitchen appliances, whole house water, and portable appliances were held and CHEAA’s technical roadmaps for refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, kitchen appliances, and water heaters were unveiled.
CHEAA’s technical roadmap project was first launched in 2011, and revised in 2013, 2015 and 2019 to accommodate to industry changes. Through the revisions, the technical roadmap project expanded the portfolio from one comprehensive roadmap to category-specific roadmaps that include refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, kitchen appliances, water heaters and electric cookers. This year marks the fourth revision of roadmaps for refrigerators, air conditioners and washing machines, and the second for kitchen appliances and water heaters.
In reflection of the changes in the economic and social environment, the revision work groups rounded up the trends in technical regulations, policies and market needs, identified social and market drivers, predicted where the consumers and the industry are going. Based on that, the revision mapped out the technical upgrading goals for the industry at the current stage, identified main technical pain points, and proposed targeted roadmaps accordingly.
The technical roadmaps are expected to prepare the industry for its development in the coming 15th Five-Year Plan.
