Jan. 5 -- China’s electronics giant Hisense Electric Co. will install Alexa, intelligent personal assistant developed by Amazon.Com Inc., on its new 4K (4096 × 2160 pixel resolution) smart TVs, the world’s third-largest TV manufacturer said.
Hisense TVs equipped with Alexa will allow users to control TV switch, change inputs, control volume and channel with voice commands. In addition, they can also access streaming media resources such as Amazon Music and Spotify via Alexa, the online news outlet Huanqiu reported today. The TV can even act as a smart home control center, commanding such devices as smart lights and temperature controllers.
Hisense also installed Alexa in smart air conditioners and smart dehumidifiers it released in the US last December. It can remotely control the heating, cooling and dehumidification functions by voice.
Qingdao-based Hisense will unveil the new TVs during next week's International Consumer Electronics Show, better known as CES, in Las Vegas.
