(Yicai Global) Aug. 28 -- Huang Hui, former chief engineer of Gree Electric Appliances Inc. of Zhuhai (Gree), will act as its executive president after a management reshuffle at the home appliance maker based in China’s southeastern economic dynamo of Guangdong province.

Dong Mingzhu will remain its chairwoman and president.

As one of the longest-serving employees at Gree, Huang was responsible for the company's research and development, The Paper reported Aug. 26. Huang was appointed its executive vice president in 2014 and director in 2012 after serving as chief engineer since 2007.

He is also chairman of Zhuhai Gree Dajin Mechanical & Electrical Equipment Co. -- a Gree affiliate -- and director of the National Engineering Research Center for Green Refrigeration Equipment.

Tan Jianming, former deputy chief engineer at Gree, will take over as chief engineer after Huang becomes executive president.

With Gree electing its new board next year, Dong is set to remain its chairwoman while Huang will likely become its president, the report said, citing an insider.

Zhuhai’s city government plans to appoint Li Xupeng -- previously deputy head of the city's science and technology and industry information bureau -- as Gree’s communist party chief, the National Business Daily reported Aug. 22.
