Beijing celebrates the 30th anniversary of Montreal Protocol on Sept 12, 2017. At the event, China Household Electrical Appliances Association (CHEAA) was recognized and appreciated with a certificate by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the World Bank and Foreign Economic Cooperation Office (FECO) of China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP), for its valuable contributions and efforts in protecting the ozone layers. Jiang Feng, President of CHEAA, and Wang Lei, Deputy President of CHEAA, were recognized for their contributions as individuals.

China’s home appliance industry has come a long way in the past 30 years, putting unremitting efforts in implementing Montreal Protocol at the same time. The joint recognition of the five organizations signals what this industry has done in the past, also encourages it to shoulder more responsibility in global environmental protection moving forward.
