China’s washing machine market posted retail sales value of 71.4 billion Yuan in 2020, down by 6.2% year-on-year, and retail sales volume of 36.9 million units, down by 3.6% year-on-year, according to all channel data estimated by All View Cloud. It is learned that the retail sales performance was sluggish in the first half of the year but picking up in the second half with a clear recovery at online market and a slower one at offline.
The pandemic accelerated the transition from offline to online, with online market accounting for 65% by retail sales volume and nearly 50% by retail sales value. Price wise, the average price has been going up both at both online and offline market in 2020.
