Nov 9: International Workshop on Alternative Technologies to HCFC 22 in Room Air Conditioner Sector
Co-organized by Foreign Economic Cooperation Office (FECO) under Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) of China, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), Die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and CHEAA, the annual International Workshop on Alternative Technologies to HCFC 22 in Room Air Conditioner Sector brought together more than 400 attendees from over 20 countries on Nov. 9, 2016, making a historic high. In this workshop, a number of reports were presented, including Report onThe Kigali Amendment of Montreal Protocol from Zhou Xiaofang, director of FECO, Progress of HPMP in China’s Room Air Conditioner Sector from Zhong Zhifeng, deputy director of FECO, Test Programs for Low-GWP Refrigerants in High Ambient Temperature (HAT) Countries from Ole Nielsen of UNIDO, Future Trends of Hydrocarbons in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning from Mark W. Roberts of Environmental Investigation Agency, Impact of Airflow on Concentration Distribution of Leaked R290 from Li Tingxun of Zhongshan University, Overview of Safety Standards for Flammable Refrigerants from Radhey S. Agarwal from UNEP, Progress of HCFC Phase-out in the Installation and Maintainance of Room Air Conditioners from Hu Shaofeng of UNEP, etc.
Nov. 10: General Session of 2016 China Household Electrical Appliances Technical Conference
General Session of 2016 China Household Electrical Appliances Technical Conference brought together some 600 people on Nov 10 2016. With a theme of Smartness, Greenness and New Materials, this session focused on trends of international home appliance industry, common technologies applicable for home appliances, smart manufacturing, smart products, energy conservation, and the application of new technologies and new materials.
At this session, 17 keynote speakers shared their views on smartization, digitalization, and technological improvements. What’s more, an award ceremony was held to honor select industry players for their scientific and technological advancements and individuals for the scientific papers they presented.

Nov 11 witnessed concurrent Special Sessions of 2016 China Household Electrical Appliances Technical Conference, including sessions for kitchen appliances, for water heaters, for air conditioners, for refrigerators, and for washers.
