Sept. 20 2017-- Leading Chinese home appliance maker Midea Group Co. has agreed a strategic cooperation with Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals Corp. to develop medical robots, health-related Big Data and intelligent logistics, the companies said in a press briefing on Sept. 19.
The pair will build a joint scientific research platform, carry out studies and found an industrial fund and joint ventures. They will also develop rehabilitation and surgical robots, build Big Data centers and make health service software and hardware.
Midea Group, based in Guangzhou in China’s southern Guangdong province, will provide a smart drug supply chain service and pharmacy solution to Guangzhou Pharma.
The appliance maker has leading technical capabilities in robot industrialization, intelligent supply chains and Big Data systems, while Guangzhou Pharma is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in China with extensive medicine marketing channels and talent resources.
Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals is proactively growing a presence in the intelligent medical sector and previously reached a cooperation agreement with China’s leading intelligent voice company Iflytek Co. [SHE:002230] to explore the application of artificial intelligence and intelligent voice in medical information service systems.
