On June 9, Guangdong TCL Smart Home Appliances Co., Ltd. announced an adjustment to its Southeast Asia production base construction plan and disclosed the latest progress of the project. According to the announcement, TCL Smart Home originally planned to invest RMB 490 million in establishing a production base in Southeast Asia, aiming to add refrigerator production capacity of 1 to 1.4 million units per year. After the adjustment, the investment location has been confirmed as Chonburi Province, Thailand. The project will be carried out in two phases. In Phase I, TCL plans to lease a facility in Chonburi to establish a freezer production line, with an investment budget of no more than RMB 80 million. This phase is expected to add an annual freezer production capacity of 300,000 units. In Phase II, TCL intends to purchase land in an industrial park in Chonburi to construct new production facilities, including a refrigerator production line and supporting infrastructure. This phase aims to increase annual refrigerator production capacity by 1.4 million units, with a planned investment not exceeding RMB 600 million.
